1440 hrs Anchor, Hadfield Road.
Members of the Longdendale and Glossopdale footpath Society met at Hadfield, from their starting point the Anchor they went by Hadfield Cross and descended Kiln Lane to Lambgates. The route headed down stream to Brosscroft and by way of Waterside to New Road Bridge.
Across the Etherow they went up into Tintwistle firstly by West Drive then along conduit Street and finally across Sexton Street to Bank Lane. Ahead paths took then to the embankment of Bottoms Reservoir then onto a concessionary path leading to Valehouse.
Following the reservoir road at Valehouse took them to the dry upper stretches of the reservoir before an ascent to Rhodeswood embankment. Across the dam and through Deepclough Farm to join the Trans Pennine Trail along the former Woodhead railway route to Padfield Main Road and around the Roughfields estate to Lambgates and a return over Kiln Lane.
